I am a fun loving human being who enjoys being a member of the human race.
I am passionate about science-fiction, mainly Star Trek Voyager (And ONLY Voyager. TOS in a pinch, I suppose), Star Wars, Alien and Aliens, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Red Dwarf and Futurama.
Captain Kathryn Janeway is the best Star Trek Captain, the best character in that universe, and the greatest fictional character ever created, portrayed by the awesome Kate Mulgrew. Voyager is THE BEST. TV SHOW. EVER. And anyone who disagrees is entirely wrong. But, I’m open minded, you have the right to disagree, that’s what’s wonderful about the human mind and the ultimate joy of democracy and freedom of speech. But I’ll still think you’re right if you agree, and wrong, wrong, wrong if you don’t. 🙂
My interests stretch far and wide, including ice hockey and a passionate support for those magnificent Broadway Blueshirts, the New York Rangers, LET’S GO RANGERS! I’m a big reader, mainly sci-fi, popular science and astronomy books, World War One and Two accounts. I love to go out, and I love to stay in. I love good company and good times, I love good food, good drink and good friends, and I love to have a blast sitting in front of my PC fighting pixel verions of enemies. Most forms of animated comedy are my friends, including The Simpsons and Family Guy, and I consider live-action comedy and stand-up a laugh too. Particularly Eddie Izzard, Lee Evans, and Red Dwarf.
Music wise, I range from Radiohead (best band in the world) to The Prodigy, to classical music and film soundtracks.

As you’ve probably guessed, my name is Maria. And I found your site because I often spend my idle time on line just poking around trying to find a site like yours.
A site that is pro-Voyager. That acknowledges the wonderfulness that is Voyager, the uber-Captain-ness that is Kathryn Janeway, and everything else that is just so good about this show !
There are a lot of Voyager fan-sites out there. But no site that does what you do. You take the fight back to DS9 and it’s rabid fans with your insightful, well-written critiques of that show.
Go to any Trek site with a forum, or message-board, and watch the Voyager-hate fly. Go to IMDb and watch some idiot say Robert Beltran should have been drowned at birth, or that Robbie MacNeill should meet a similar fate for playing the “annoying” Tom Paris (haters always call him “annoying”).
Tom is my favorite character on Voyager, followed closely by B’Elanna Torres. But, I love all the characters, and agree Janeway is the best of the Trek captains.
For my second favorite Trek, I have to go with TNG – I love the 24th century, and my favorite character there is Data.
But Voyager is, and always will be my first and foremost favorite science-fiction series.

The Nasty Niners fuck me off something ROYAL. So far up their own asses….only the ones that hate on the other shows for being, well, not DS9. Like I said in the post, I usually avoid geek-rage, but I just couldn’t help myself on that occasion. I don’t mind fans who like DS9, that’s great, but dont’t rag on the other shows just because you don’t like them. Jeez. And people who make online threats to actors (the Beltran thing) are the biggest fucking cowards on this planet, so ignore them. I do. 🙂
I’ll admit, I stay away from Trek forums for that reason. There are plenty of Voyager fans out there, but there are plenty of haters too. It makes my blood boil. I’m a huge Star Wars fan too, I get my forum fix from SW forums instead.
Just hang around online fans who are level-headed and open to other peoples ideas. It makes life easier.
